October 18, 1999 — March 21, 2021
Fortville, Indiana
Mathew Lahey, 21, passed away on March 21, 2021.  Mathew graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana in 2019 and was an employee at Daimler Parts Distribution Center in Whitestown, Indiana.  Mathew filled every room he walked into with laughter.  He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Mathew was my younger son's, Jared, best friend for many years.  He often came to stay at our house, would go to church with me on Sunday.  Mathew was like family to us and i think of him all the time.

Mat passed away by a pill laced with fentanyl.  In my eyes that was murder. He was not an addict.  Once is all it takes.  Miss you buddy
